This large platter is created out of porcelain white clay. The overall design is to portray a sense of “abundance” through its continuous curvaceous form. The curved form allows the eye to wander around the cup which gives it a sense of a warmth and softness that invites you to touch it and hold it in your hand.
The two glazes overlapped here offer soothing balance of a white sandy beach and the blue ocean.
The platter is 2.25 inches tall and 12 inch diameter.
* There is one speckle that you can see on the outer edge of the platter in the second image. I consider it the hand crafted charm. It doesn’t interfere with the overall aesthetics in my opinion, but I want the viewer to know that there are some freckle like spots on the pottery.
The platter comes with an original sumi calligraphy box depicting the scenes from the nearby Soos Creek where my studio resides.
